It is recommended that a child’s first visit to the dentist be within 6 months of the appearance of the first tooth or by the child’s first birthday. And just like adults, children should be scheduled for check ups every 6 to 12 months. Remaining consistent in that aspect will help you form a positive rapport with your child regarding dentist office visits.
First Dental Appointment
At your child’s first dentist office visit, it’s understandable for him or her to be apprehensive. At Lakeridge Dentistry, we’ve developed a program that helps your child feel comfortable and at ease. When that’s the case, it’s more likely your child will take an active interest in his or her own oral health. Our dentists will teach your child how to properly brush while being able to see what’s happening with a handheld mirror.
If you have any questions or reservations about bringing your child in for an appointment, our courteous, professional staff will answer all of your questions and put you and your child at ease!
